Study Methods, Streaks & What's Next
A few focused improvements shipped alongside the big dashboard update, here's what changed and what's coming.
Study methods: always visible
The study methods section is now always visible on the dashboard. Study methods are the different ways you can organise your revision sessions in your calendar, they define the structure of how you study, not just what you study.
We also changed the default to auto-start: when you pick a study method, your session begins immediately without an extra confirmation step. If you prefer the previous behaviour, you can toggle this off in Settings → Study.
Currently available:
- Spaced Repetition, review material at scientifically-timed intervals to maximise long-term retention
More study methods are in development and will be added over the coming months.
Streaks: back and improved
The Streak widget is back on the dashboard with a cleaner design. Your streak increments each calendar day you complete at least one study session. It resets at midnight if you miss a day, no grace period, because consistency is the point.
The widget shows:
- Current streak (days)
- Longest streak ever
- A 7-day habit grid showing which days you studied this week
Weekly goal widget
Set a weekly study target (in hours) and the widget tracks your progress toward it in real time. The goal resets every Monday.
What's coming next
Here's what we're actively working on:
- Flashcards, create and study your own review cards with spaced repetition built in
- More third-party integrations, connect Akademe with more tools in your workflow
- Desktop app for macOS, a native Mac app is in early development
We'll share more as these get closer to launch. In the meantime, everything above is live, go check your dashboard.
